Baltic IT crisis hangs on people
Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are the worst-hit places in Europe following the downturn. They have the highest unemployment; the best people are leaving and a once vibrant software industry which gave us Skype is moribund.
ECDL Foundation launches new eSkills Career Tool
This tool is neither a formal test, nor a serious career guidance resource. It is intended to enable end-users to gauge what areas of their ICT skills might be weakest, and therefore what areas they should be focussing on to strengthen their skills through relevant ECDL Foundation modules. The tool is specifically aimed at end-users whose search for a career would be benefitted by increased digital literacy, and at workers who are currently looking to up-skill. It is a fully interactive quiz, and the personal data volunteered by the end-user will only be retained for the duration of the quiz.
Links to the eSkills Career Tool appear in various areas of the ECDL Foundation website, and can be promoted on all National Operators’ websites, and at all test centres.

Haridus- ja Teadusministeerium kutsub katkenud kõrgharidusteed jätkama
Haridus- ja teadusminister Tõnis Lukas kinnitas programmi, mille abil pakutakse kõrgharidustasemel õpingud katkestanud inimestele võimalust oma õpingud lõpule viia. Programmi, mis kannab nime „Kõrghariduse katkestanute haridustee jätkamine – TULE“, rahastavad Euroopa Sotsiaalfond ja Eesti riik. Programmi nime selgitus annab hästi edasi peamise sõnumi: TULE, see tähendab - Tule uuesti, lõpeta edukalt!
